The weekend of September 7-9 was busy! I stayed in Amsterdam on Friday night and Shaun played in a golf tournament somewhat near France on Saturday. His team didn't win the tournament and the highlight was that the tournament was sponsored by Hooter's. Apparently German golf courses don't have motorized carts so if you wanted a cart for this tournament, you had to bid on a "Hooter's Girl" for about 450 euro. Not sure if you can do the quick math with the conversion rate, but that's a lot of money... besides, he would never "bid" on a girl, would he? ...So he had his exercise for the day.
Saturday evening, we were fortunate enough to have a street festival (Strassenfest) right on our little shopping street! The festival was busy and had live music and as usual, tons of delicious food and beer! We actually went to the festival and then hung out on our balcony, enjoying the sites and sounds from below.
Like Mardi Gras without the beads.

Sunday, we drove to Kassel, Germany and a modern art exhibit called "The Documenta", a 100 day festival that only comes around once
every five years (THANK GOD). We were fortunate enough to have our friends Kurt & Carrie join us for the trip. In summary: we drove 2 hours each way only figure out that we dislike modern art. No offense to anyone who is a modern artist..but we just didn't "get" half of the exhibits. And then the artists have the gall to name them "Untitled." How can they do this?? Lunch was our favorite part of the day! Here are some pics of our exploits..enjoy!
