Prague, Czech Republic- May 9 - 11

As a birthday gift to me (yes, I rang in my 28th on the 8th) Shaun took me to Prague for the weekend. Luckily one of Shaun's old buddies from Towson, Paul, lives there so we were able to bunk with him. Prague is such a cool city! We really liked it and it is up there in our rankings with Berlin and Amsterdam. Friday night we went out for some Czech food and walked around the old Town Square at night.

Saturday morning we had a wonderful brunch in the Jewish Quarter. Then we milled around the old streets and walked across the Charles Bridge to the area right around the Prague Castle. After a nice outdoor brunch in the sun we headed back to Paul's for a nap before dinner. First, we met Paul atop a park near his place that has a beer garden in the evenings. It is a gorgeous park that overlooks the entire city and really has a great view. Then we headed to a restaraunt in Wenceslas Square for dinner. This was a unique place as each table included a beer tap in the center where you could pour your own beer.
Sunday morning a blessed thing happened. We found the most delicious bagel place! (Bohemia Bagel...I love you!). I was even able to order a side of an American Pancake...you just don't see bagels or pancakes in Euorpe!! Afterwards we walked back across the river to Petrin Hill. Here we hiked to the top and enjoyed gorgeous views of the city below. Then it was time to head back to Frankfurt - only a one hour flight. By 10pm on Sunday we were back in the apartment. Today is a holiday in Germany (and most of Europe- Pentecost Monday). I am enjoying it by reading a book on the balcony with Koop- who is exhausted from her recent kennel stay and bath.

Wow you have really done so much in your time there. You've been to so many places!

I am starting back in Birmingham on June 30th. Let's meet up in London at some point - what do you think?
