Our friend April arrived in Germany on June 28th. After picking her up at the airport and grabbing some breakfast we all took a nap. That evening we headed to Aschaffenburg, Germany for the Volksfest (People's Festival). Aschaffenburg is only about an hour from Frankfurt...and lo and behold is actually in Bavaria. Volksfest was essentially a mini-Oktoberfest. We had a great time hanging out in the bier tent and singing along to the music. April and Shaun enjoyed several maß beirs and I enjoyed a half chicken (seriously, I mean seriously, the world's best rotisserie chicken). After a few hours of the tent, we enjoyed a stroll around the carnival outside which included some delicious chocolate covered strawberries!Click here to see rest of Aschaffenburg pics.
