Babymoon Part II- Sardinia - September 10 - 15

On Wednesday we headed to Sardinia from Rome. Sardinia is an island off the coast of Italy. Using some points I earned during my Amsterdam stint we stayed at an awesome resort outside of Cagliari, Sardinia in the small town of Domus de Maria. The resort we stayed at was called the Le Méridien Chia Laguna and it was awesome! If you're looking to do absolutely nothing on vacation other than lay on the beach/near the pool, read, relax, nap and eat - this is the place! (we were trying to fill the hole that the OBX used to fill!) It took us about 2 days to recover from the miles we walked around Rome (there were a few days where we both had some trouble getting out of bed in the morning...our feet hurt so bad!). We had good weather while we were there - although I can't say it was great. We had 3 days of great sun and a mix of sun and showers on the other 2 days.

Each day we boarded the hotels little choo choo train to the beach...after a 5 minute ride and short walk we were at the beach! There were chairs and umbrellas that we could use which I loved - the face shield made all the difference! It is pretty rare to find a white sand beach in Europe and we were so excited to see that the hotel's beach had the softest white sand!! I was even able to lay on my stomach for a few hours each day after digging a little belly hole in the sand - which was heavenly! I was very sad to leave Sardinia because I felt so relaxed and refreshed. It was exactly what we needed after a chaotic summer. It also gave us a chance to not talk about the baby for a few days (no offense to her...). It was nice to just hang out and enjoy life and some peace and quiet. We know it won't be long until peace and quiet are a thing of the past :)
