November 14-16. With the baby due in about a month and not wanting to be far away from Kate as the due date moved closer, I (shaun here) decided to take advantage of an otherwise non-eventful weekend and go skiing. On Friday afternoon, my friend Mike and I drove about 5 hours to Solden, Austria. It is still early in the season so Solden only had glacier skiing available. Glacier skiing really isn't different from normal skiing except you have to drive your car up the mountain where it is colder and the mountain has snow on top of an "ice cap" on the top of the mountain.
We had a blast ... and Mike had an extra fun time watching me try to remember how to ski. Saturday was a little rough on my body - lots of falls, but my skiing was much better on Sunday.
Can't wait to go skiing again hopefully in February or March with Kate and Baby Rausch (don't think they will be skiing, but we can all enjoy a winter getaway).
Anybody want to go skiing?
