Peddalino

When we visited the Christmas markets the day before I went into labor with Morgan, we fell in love with the items sold at one of the stalls in Frankfurt. Namely, Peddalino the unicycling bear. The night after Morgan was born mom, Keith, and Shaun went back to the Frankfurt Christmas market for its last night while I stayed in the hospital and rested. Once there mom and Keith bought Morgan Peddalino and gave it to her as a Christmas present. Now – I was a little surprised when I saw that Peddalino was in an 8.5 x 11” envelope. And hence began a 3 day construction project. Every piece of the bear had to be cut out of a single sheet of cardboard and then assembled. Shaun and I attempted to do this while Mom and Keith were in Paris..but after an hour of staring blankly at the pieces we gave up. Luckily, Keith was able to lend us some of his artistic talent and undertook the task of getting Peddalino put together. Construction included the acquisition of a smooth stone that is used as a counterbalance on the thread. We ended up picking a stone up at the castle we visited on New Years day to finish the project. So..in his worldwide debut – here is Peddalino. You’ll here Keith say at the end of the video “and they said it couldn’t be done!” Our sentiments exactly. Thanks Keith!
