Yoga

Last week Morgan and I began a "Baby and Me" yoga class. The class was taught in German at the Frankfurt Balance Yoga Institut. Essentially it is a yoga class for moms and the babies just lie on a blanket next to you. I could not understand a word the teacher was saying (other than "rechts" meaning "right" and "links" meaning "left") but I was able to watch her and get the gist of what needed to be done. One thing I learned is that when the instructor said to move your right arm or leg - she too moved her right arm or leg! For anyone who has taken an aerobics class before you know how confusing this can be! Usually the teacher tries to mirror what she wants the class to do and because she is facing them she will use her left side when she wants you to move your right. I was the only one having trouble with this in the class- so I assume that is how all exercise classes are taught here. Halfway through I just gave up and did everything on the opposite side as everyone else. I have no coordination and I was having enough trouble concentrating on the different positions and balancing. At one point I looked over at Morgan and she rolled from her back to her side..I was shocked..and excited! Morgan did pretty well in class and only had a minor meltdown toward the end when she decided it was lunch time. It is an eight week class and there are about 10 other moms in the class. As luck would have it all of the babies are girls. After arriving back home after yoga I gave Morgan a bath and below is the end result.
